With new media comes new ethics. With the invention of the internet and blogging in general there is a whole variety of new issues that arise. One issue in particular is the idea of how anyone online can be anonymous. This is an issue because on forums where people debate things such as political issues, anyone can post anonymously and people will argue simply to argue. This is known as the great FLAME WAR and people who participate in it are known as flammers. For a more elaborate definition check out this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flaming_(Internet)
Even more alarming than the crazy bashings on youtube comments is the idea that a person can impersonate another using sites like Facebook. Usually people notice right away that an account is a fake, and it can be reported, but the fact that a person can do it for even a few hours is somewhat frightening. However I still have faith that even with people having the ability to be faceless or take on a fake face, that an educated person can easily identify this and not fule the Flame War by simply ignoring the nonsense.
